Satellite Phones

Satellite phones are not cellphones. In cell phone technology cell towers are built that relay calls. This technology is called The Mobile Telephone Switching Office that connects calls with the Public Switched Telephone Network.
Your cellphone is identified and can be tracked because all cell phones are registered with the control channel. The limiting condition to a cellphone is that if you are in an area that does not have a cell tower, your cell phone will not work. And, think about this. If you are on the ocean, your cellphone is worthless. Satellite phones do not use cell towers. Satellite phones use Earth orbiting or LEO satellites.
Calls from your satellite phone goes to one of many satellites that are part of satellite constellations. Your call is registered with the constellation. Iridium satellite phones has 66 satellites that orbit the Earth. Globalstar has 48 satellites that orbit the Earth. When you call using a satellite phone to a non satellite phone, your call is routed from the satellite to a gateway station that directs your call to the person you are calling.
You can call any landphone or cellphone using a satellite phone. And you can receive calls from any landphone or cellphone. Your satellite phone is the most secure form of calling if you call another satellite phone. Because if you call another satellite phone, your call goes to the satellite that sends it to the ground station that sends it back to the satellite that sends it to the party you are calling and your call never goes to a landphone or cellphone tower to be recorded.
Satellite phone company GlobalStar has announce that their satellite manufacturer Thales Alenia Space has started making and testing its first GlobalStar second generation satellites. The Thales Alenia Space manufacturer is located in Cannes, France, where announcement was made that their new satellites will begin to arrive next June starring GlobalStar's advanced mobile satellite phones. GlobalStar has more than 325,000 customers using their satellite phone technology.
